Out of my Mind is a novel that touched my heart. Melody Brookes, is an 11-year-old child who has never spoken one word in her entire life. She has a condition known as cerebral palsy, and is physically confined to a wheelchair. Yet, she is completely underestimated when it comes to brainpower; she has a photographic memory. This ability is undiscovered until a high-tech device is presented to Melody that allows her to vocalize. The crescendo of this story is akin to a doleful song that ends in incredulity and an optimistic finale.
thank you for these reviews and recommendations, Tori. I am making a list of books to read this summer
